I rate my summer holidays by the number of books I get to read
And you know what, I read 7 books this summer (yay, my kids are officially ice cream independent!)
Here is the list with some standout reads that you might find captivating too:
1. “The Pathless Path” by Paul Millerd
This book is great for you if you’re unsure of what you want to do in life. (Hmm… aren’t we all now and then?).
2. “Vejen til Ansvar“ (“The Road to Responsibility”) by Alex Vanopslagh
Alex’s take on the Danish school reform (among other things!) is thought-provoking, and he encourages us to embrace our personal responsibility. Without a doubt, a sharp and savvy intellect.
3. “The 3 Alarms — A Simple System to Transform Your Health, Wealth, and Relationships Forever” by Eric Partaker
I really loved these 3 pieces of advice:
1. ‘The 3 alarms’-method, which helps remind you of the identity you want to have
2. ‘The ideal week’, which I’ve started using
3. ‘The weekly review’, where you review how your week went at the end of each week.
4. “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Stephen M. R. Covey.
Read this before, but maybe the best self-help/productivity book I’ve ever read. A runner up would be “Atomic Habits”.
5. “Omgivet af idioter” / “Surrounded by Idiots” by @Thomas Erikson
So, I got this book for my husband (!), but I couldn’t resist sneaking a peek myself to gather some conversational ammo!
6. “What We Owe The Future” by William MacAskill.
I read about this book to be a textbook for philosophy mixed with a pamphlet for activism and I completely agree with that statement.
6. “Sapiens” by Yuval Noah Harari.
I picked it up to explore history of mankind, and it didn’t disappoint! Now I know why so many people are talking about it.
7. “Malibu Burning” by Taylor Jenkins Reid
A rather naive but entertaining beach read that made me dream of the life I never had as a fearless female surfer, catching waves in sunny Cali. Who knew!
✨
Note: I find many American business books to be quite high-flying, but if you strip away a few of the aspirational words, the above mentioned somewhat resonates.
What other books should I read? Hit me!
